Welcome to the official MID CITY JAZZ FESTIVAL webpage!

Created and hosted by Dr. Charles Brooks in 2016, the MCJF is open to all Louisiana middle school, high school, and independent music school jazz ensembles. The festival was created to bring together Louisiana's young musicians and offer them the unique opportunity to perform in front of professional jazz musicians and collegiate-level educators in a friendly yet competitive environment. Quite simply, the Mid City Jazz Festival's goal is to present Louisiana's budding musicians with the opportunity to be a part of a future focused on the preservation of Louisiana's jazz music, education, and heritage.

We have had three successful years with the MCJF and certainly look forward to the next one, but unfortunately we will NOT be holding a festival in 2019.

*Due to the growing nature of the festival, we have decided to take a year and work on expanding your experience to a new location in Baton Rouge. We are also seeking sponsors to aid us in the ability to foster jazz education and performance opportunities to these young, budding Louisiana musicians. So we'll be back bigger and stronger in 2020! Until then, please feel free to follow us on Facebook @MidCityJazzFestival and on here at TheCharlesBrooks.com/mcjf.

We guarantee it'll be worth the wait!

**Please direct any questions or interests in sponsorship to TheCharlesBrooks@gmail.com.
